Scientific studies on Hidrex iontophoresis against hyperhidrosis
Overview of scientific studies on Hidrex iontophoresis devices for treating hyperhidrosis
Tap water iontophoresis (TWI) is a treatment method that has been scientifically recognized for many years and can result in normally dry skin in 98% of cases. However, the exact mechanism of action has not yet been completely understood. Tap water iontophoresis is believed to interfere with the way stimuli and secretion are coupled in the sweat glands. It causes a postsynaptic, but reversible functional disorder, with the result that less or almost no sweat can escape from the sweat glands (cf. Reinauer et al., 1992).
Together with the University of Wuppertal and the largest dermatology clinics in Germany, HIDREX GmbH was the first company to develop iontophoresis devices and successfully bring them onto the market.
Below, we will introduce you to the results of studies on the effectiveness of TWI. The investigation used treatment devices made by HIDREX GmbH and clearly showed the positive effects of HIDREX TWI treatment.
